Hello everyone, I hope you had a great Holiday weekend and an even better 4th of July! Today’s subject is all about buying goods up front without drop shipping.

This means you will have to look for a wholesaler that sells bulk. This can be a nightmare, considering how many middlemen there are posing as wholesalers.

Using a wholesaler that sells in bulk can save you lots of money. This is how buying in large quantities can benefit you:
Let’s say you buy one DVD player at the price of $100.00; But if you bought 1000 DVD players at once, the price would be around $50.00 for each DVD player.

Here is the biggest myth out there: People tend to think they have to look at buying goods overseas, to buy large quantities and save money. Fact: There are plenty of manufacturers or manufacturer wholesale distributors in your country. Some of them are probably in your local area.

It can be a huge waste of time and money to buy goods overseas. By the time 1 pallet is delivered from China to the USA; You have paid so much money for shipping, you could have paid for huge container to be shipped (the containers you can fit 2 cars into).

You have to worry about customs also, it can take weeks, days, or months for customs to inspect your goods. You will lose hundreds, if not, thousands of dollars doing business across seas.

The price can be outrageous to have something, as small as, a pallet load of Sony DVD players, boated across seas. Your local manufacturers and manufacturer wholesale distributors are doing this job for you already.

The manufacturer’s wholesale distributors have thousands of huge containers delivered along side of your measly pallet anyway. Most times they order so much, there is a huge discount in shipping.

What about getting ripped off? If you buy from China, the same rules and laws don’t apply, as they do in the USA. They can easily take your money and never send you the goods. And nobody can do a thing about it, because they are from China. China doesn’t have to obey the same laws your country obeys. Plus China is known to sell counterfeit goods.

Here is an example of a factual event: For two years, a friend of mine was doing business with a company in China. They sent everything he ordered every time. He was paying more for shipping, but he was still making about $20.00 or more per unit, by buying it overseas. He was so happy, telling me how much money he was making. Through the 2 year period, he bought a brand new car and a house. I kept reminding him to expand, don’t put all your eggs in one basket. He just blew it off and kept doing business as usual. He ordered a bunch Playstations (I think he ordered about 1000 at a time).

Soon after he started doing really good, his order never came. He called the company, and asked for the manager, which he new by name from talking on the phone so many times through 2 years. He got the run around. Everyday for 6 months he called them and tried to come to an agreement. They never agreed to anything, they kept saying they sent it, it wasn’t their fault what happens after they ship it. He lost a lot of money, it almost put him out of business.

The moral of the story: He had a great two year relationship with a well known company in China. Who would have ever thought this could happen? Don’t waste your time buying over seas, you will lose eventually.

The money you save is not worth it in the long run. I am not saying every company in China will rip you off. I am just saying, there is nothing stopping them. You are a measly, little, home business in the USA. You mean nothing to them.

One downfall to buying in bulk is storage space. If you just bought a pallet of DVD players, you need a place to store it. Do you have a warehouse or spare garage space? You may need fire permits or other permits to store large quantities of goods and run a home business. It depends on your city laws.

Also, what happens if you sell 75 out 100 of the DVD players and the competition decides they will drop the prices? You either, don’t sell the items you already have or you have to sell them lower for less profit. You might lose money.

The upside is; if you bought a pallet of anything, you thought things through. You know what will fly off the shelves. You know if you buy a pallet of Playstation 3′s or Xbox’s you won’t lose money.

You will make money and you will make it fast by buying bulk quantities. There can be much success, with buying large amounts of goods at one time. This works only if you have a place to store large amounts of anything.

If you don’t have the space to store large amounts of goods, drop shipping may be ideal for you. It’s all in knowing, “what’s hot” at the time. It’s very important to do research on what’s selling right now.
Tomorrow the same things might not be selling.

Remember, there is tons of business to do, in the USA. We don’t need to go overseas.

One of the best places to find reliable drop shippers is World Wide Brands. They are very reliable. They do constant research to find REAL drop shippers “not middlemen”.

Thanks for stopping by,
Hello Readers, I hope you had a great week and have an even better 4th of July weekend! Today I will be talking about not putting all your eggs in to one basket. Having multiple streams of income is the best way to make money online.

Any good online business person knows: that you should never count on just one way to make money, to keep your business going. One of the most successful ways to keep your business going is to have as many options open as possible. It’s a fact, more money will come pouring in, and the more ways you try to make money.

Never lock yourself into one thing when you try to make money online. Just because, that one way to make money you really rely on, might not be a good way to make money. You could bend over backwards trying to make money with just one option. And that one option may never bring you a dime.

Experiment a little. You never know, there is always a much easier way to make money online. There are literally thousands of things you can do to make money online. Go pick out some ways you think you might enjoy, while making money at the same time.

Don’t play by someone else’s rules either. Remember, making money online can be very enjoyable and fun. Don’t do something you hate doing. After a while you will lose interest and stop doing it.

It’s like working with a pair of handcuffs. An affiliate marketer knows that the more advertisements they make the more sales they will have in the end result. They would never be able to make a living, off of one advertisement. They also know they can’t live off just one affiliate program.

If you are in sales, you should always have 3-5 different connections (wholesalers), to sell the same items or product. This way, if one of your connections is closed for the day or runs out of stock, you will have a backup plan.

A backup plan is always needed in the online world. It’s a very good idea, to have different options open for your business.

You can always call for your backup plan, if something ever goes wrong. What happens if you are an auto shop, you run out of fan belts and your regular supplier is out of stock? You would call your back up auto parts supplier and you’re covered. Now you don’t have to worry if one of your suppliers is not around.

There are so many things that could go wrong, by relying on one source to make you money in the online world. If you have an Ebay home business, you know what I am talking about.

Here is an example: Ebay locked my account a while back, until I mailed them proof of my ID. It took almost 3 weeks before my account was reopened. All this, just to make sure I was who I said I was…. I lost over 10 grand in sales. I didn’t have a back up plan, so I lost big time. I learned the hard way and I will never do it again.

Now I have over 50 different ways I make money online. I will never lose money again by putting all me eggs in to one basket. Take my advice; take on multiple streams of income online if you want to be successful like me.

So, it’s a good idea to have lots of ways to make money online going at the same time. As many options as possible will only help you, in the long run. Just in case, something happens to any of my current projects: I will still have income coming in to myself. Because I have multiple ways I make money online.

Even if you only have a few little ways to earn extra money: Put them together and you’ll make a good amount of money. Leave yourself, options open everywhere, it really works.

You’ll never know when you need a back up plan in the future. But, if you have lots of options open and available, you won’t lose as much money if something goes wrong.

It can be so discouraging when you know you can’t provide a service to your customers, because you didn’t plan ahead. Always prepare for disaster. In fact, always expect disaster. Because it can and will eventually happen if you don’t plan things out the right way.

Don’t take your big money maker projects for granted either. Help protect your big money maker projects, by combining little money maker projects with it. I guarantee that you will make lots of money online if you spread out your seed.

The online world is a HUGE money maker! Take advantage of it.

This is a very important home business topic. Don’t take anything for granted online. Unlike the sun, a business you rely on to make money might not be there tomorrow.

If you have any questions feel free to email me.
Thanks for reading,

Hello readers, I hope you had a great weekend! Today I am going to tell you how to make some money from affiliate marketing. There are tons of ways you can make money from affiliate marketing.

One of the easiest ways to make money online is; combining article writing, blogging, forums, social websites, and affiliate marketing. It sounds a lot more complicated than it really is, believe me. But it is very easy once you get a routing going.

Affiliate marketing works like this:

*You find an affiliate program you want to promote. From big companies like Coca Cola to Name brand electronics. Find a program that you would like to promote.

*Once you sign up for an affiliate program, you will receive an affiliate link or banner.

*Post that affiliate link or banner anywhere online.

*When a person clicks on that affiliate link and purchases something, you get a commission from each sale.

You can find affiliate programs anywhere online. One of the best ways to make money with affiliate marketing may be from Clickbank. Clickbank is free and very easy to use. Clickbank is a worldwide publisher of e-books and programs. They let publishers (everyday people like you) post their e-books so people buy them.

Clickbank is one of thousands of affiliate programs you can use. The choice is up to you. But I suggest Clickbank for beginners. The program is very simple and very profitable.

Clickbank will also let people sell the publisher’s books for commission. This is how you can use affiliate marketing to your advantage. A publisher lists how much a commission the person will get for selling the e-book or program. You can get up to 75% by selling e-books or programs for publishers.

If a publisher is asking 100 dollars for his/her program, you would get 75 dollars to sell it for them (if the commission is 75%). Most publishers offer 75% commission for each sale.

Clickbank is a great place to make a little extra money. This is in effect called affiliate marketing. The e-book publisher is the affiliate and you are marketing his/her product.

You may want to tell the publisher that you are thinking about marketing for them. Explain that you would like to have the program (free sample) so you can look it over and market it the right way. Or if they can at least explain their product, so you know it’s not a rip off.

It’s very important to promote products you would use yourself and trust. Would you want to promote something that you would not use yourself? Would you want your customers to be ripped off for your gain? Of coarse not.

People are more likely to buy products from you again if it was an e-book or program they liked. Especially if the program worked for them and did what it said it would do. Beware some e-books and programs are garbage. That’s why it is so important that you review everything you promote.

It’s all up to you. I am just saying there are a lot of rip offs out there. I wouldn’t like to promote something that was a scam. Then my potential future customers would be uncomfortable about buying something I promote. Or worse, they may never return to my website ever again.

You can promote things you like and are familiar with. For instance; if you like World of Warcraft or website design, Clickbank has tons of e-books and programs you can promote and sell.

You can actually make money from writing about things you like. If you are interested in certain areas of expertise, write about it. They sell your e-book on Clickbank. They people can promote the e-books you write. There are tons of ways this could benefit you.

After you find a few e-books or programs you would like to promote and sell; you get the Clickbank hoplinks. Hoplinks are a fancy work for affiliate links like I talked about earlier.

A hoplink is a link that ports your link to the advertiser’s website, which in turn, tells Clickbank that a sale was made by clicking from your link. Now you get paid the commission for selling the e-book.

Now you have the hoplinks from Clickbank and you want to promote and sell the products you like. You can use article marketing, blogging, forums, and social networking websites to do this. There are literally tons of other ways you could sell e-books, but these are probably the most effective.

Article marketing is a way for you to wright about something and get word out to people. Advertise for the products you chose at Clickbank.
You are basically writing an advertisement that is promoting the product you are selling.

For instance, let’s say you want to sell an e-book to make candy canes. You would review the Clickbank publisher’s advertisement and write an eye blistering advertisement to promote the e-book.

Then your article/advertisement will be published for millions of people to see. Best of all, writing articles are FREE!

The trick is, to find a place that lets you write these types of advertisement articles with lots of traffic. Here are the 4 article websites I write on. They are well known and get lots of traffic. Your advertisements will be read by millions, which means sales for you. ezinearticles, searchwarp, ideamarketers, or goarticles.

You can go to any of these sites I mentioned, sign up and use for free! You write an article for your candy cane maker e-book.

Here is how you get paid for writing about products. On the bottom of the article you wrote, put your affiliate link in there. Maybe write, “If you want to learn how to make 12 foot candy canes click on this link________.” Now when someone reads the article, they will click onto the affiliate link and if they buy the product, you get the commission.

You will have to do 1-4 articles a day, for a couple of weeks to see results, but they are worth it. If you make a full time living from Internet/Affiliate marketing; it’s not impossible to be a millionaire within a year or two. This is a HUGE money making market right now. Hop on before it’s too late.

This is just one way of thousands that you could make money with affiliate marketing. I hope I was able to simplify it for you. If you have any questions about this, just email me.

If you want to know more, come back soon.
Thank you,
Hello readers, I hope you had a great week! Today’s topic is a very important one. Most new home businesses start out with no customer service department. Only 10% of new businesses have a customer service plan. You need a great customer service plan. Don’t start your home business without it!

The number 1 rule for customer service is: BE NICE! No matter what, the customer is always right, even if you know they are wrong. Remember this and you will be sure to succeed in your home business.

Customer service is probably the most important thing you can do in order to drive in repeat customers and word of mouth customers. Did you know that regular customers drive 70% of businesses online? This includes your home business, so make sure you have great customer service in today’s online world.

Is customer service dead? You’d think that when you call a big company or service, you would get to speak to a person right away and get the presidential treatment. After all, you are the customer right? But no, you have to push 1 for English, or this number for troubleshooting, or this number to upgrade your package. By the time your done pushing buttons and get to talk to a real person, you are upset and want to tear someone’s head off.

Everywhere you look, you hear about customers getting ripped off by crappy customer service. Some people won’t even call a company because they know they will have to play the button pushing game for 10 minutes. Some people get confused and run into dead ends on the automated customer service hot line.

Is the anti-personal part of customer service ruining big business? Is the consumer upset? You bet they are.
Anti-personal customer service usually ends up with the big company winning and the customer losing.

People are weary to buy things as it is in today’s world. Bad customer service may be a deciding factor of why a consumer will purchase an item or not. The item might break or not even work at all. Most customers don’t want to chance paying all that money if an item breaks and they know they will have a hard time returning the item.

In the 1950′s and 1960′s customer service was a way for business to expand. People never worried about being ripped off. They bought an item and if it broke, they returned it and got their money back with a little incentive gift or bonus to come back.

All though you may think, you don’t need to know about customer service just because you have a home business. You are wrong. You always want your customers to come back. Repeat customers are a major part of your business. That means you need good customer service to keep them coming back.

I know, you probably think that when you make a mistake; all you have to do is, refund the customer their money back and you’re done. That’s not customer service to me. That’s how big corporate companies might do business, but you can’t, you’re a small home business.

You have to understand the power of; word of mouth customers also. This customer tells he or she’s friend about you, they tell another friend, that friend tell this guy and so on. That’s how you build a customer base.
If you leave a customer unhappy, they will do nothing but tell everyone how much you suck. Straight out, I am being honest, don’t be a jerk to your customer, ever. The customer is always right.

I remember my mom telling me about customer service when she was a kid. Gas stations would have 3 people that ran out to your car. One guy would put gas in, another would check your tire pressure, and another would check under your hood. It was also very common to have the owner or manager come out and greet you. Owners of businesses back in the day would commonly try and make a good relationship with their customers. They had to have better customer service. The gas station across the street was charging 2 cents less per gallon.

Customer service used to be the key to having a successful business. Now things have changed. If you ask me, they have really changed for the worse. Let’s bring back great customer service. Most companies out there now-a-days seem to have overpriced services with nothing to offer if something goes wrong.

Our generation is here, the green generation. We have to change our customer service practices to make small businesses and home businesses better for the consumer again. We are the way of the future; let’s show big business how it’s done!

After all, without the consumer, nobody would buy anything. And most businesses couldn’t survive. Any business, big or small, is nothing without customers. We have to care more, that’s our customer base. Stop being so snob nosed. Present your self more professional and personal.

I am sick of hearing; you can’t get personal if you run a business. That’s wrong, customers always come back if they feel they were treated with respect and weren’t pushed around. Someone actually told me I shouldn’t have my full name all over this website, it’s too personal. I have nothing to hide.

I want my generation to understand, we have to get up-close and personal with customers. Customer service used to be exactly what the 2 words say. It means service for the customer. A smart consumer won’t trust a product till they try it for them self. But people seem to keep getting ripped off by customers with crappy customer service.

The big business world’s customer service is turning in to one big scam. We, as small and home business owners can change that now!

Next time you make a mistake, give your customers a break with incentive to come back. Don’t just give the customer their money back. Give the customer options. Something like – Keep that item and I will send you another, free of charge with a refund as well. Believe it or not, I do this a lot. Heck, if I made the mistake, why make the customer pay for it? Would you want to be treated like crap, for someone else’s mistake? Of course, as a small home business, you can’t do this for big money items. But for items under $30.00 I always take this course of action.

Your going to make up for lost, damaged, or stolen items in the long run. Hey, “It happens”. The customer will probably come back 9 times out of 10 if you go out of your way and do something for them.

Make the customer stay with you and return later as a loyal customer. Give your customers a reason, not to go to someone else. Yeah, you may charge more for your product or service, but if something ever goes wrong; the customer knows that they can count on you. That should be key.

Remember your manners, no matter how mad a customer might get. Look at it if you were in their shoes. Make sure you have a plan or goal in mind for customer service to keep the customer coming back. How many times have you called a company or service and got a rude person on the other line? It’s happened to us all.

Even if you’re not in sales, you should provide great customer service. Think about it, you planned and made daily goals to get this far in your home business. Don’t forget the customer service plan. Make it geared so even unhappy customers will come back.

Eat unhappy customer’s words and swallow it with pride, as you send your kind words and generosity their way. A close friend taught me about keeping your customers happy forever. It really works!

So what do you think? Is customer service dead? Will our generation fix it? It’s up to us!

Thank you for visiting my website.
Come back soon if you want to learn more,
Thanks,
Hello readers, I hope your day went great! This is my third post back on writing about home business. Anyone can start a successful home business. I won’t lie; in order to succeed you have to work hard and put time in your business. Don’t be fooled by anyone telling you that you can be rich overnight. It just won’t happen. Not unless you win the lottery.

Today’s post will kind of continue where I left off yesterday. It has to do with sales. So if you are interested in making money at home with selling items, then keep reading.

You have to watch out for middlemen. As a home business owner, you have to go right to the source, a real wholesaler. This way, you get the lowest possible price for items you want to sell. This will give you the most profit for your buck.

Middlemen drop shippers are everywhere. Drop shippers claiming to be wholesalers, but are not, are a home business nightmare. These companies will be sure to ruin your 100% positive eBay feedback, as well as hurt your pocket.

These companies don’t care about you or your customer. Your experience with these types of “Fake Wholesalers” will probably be the worst business mistake you could ever make. Take my word for it, stay away from companies like Doba or Simplx. You won’t make the money they claim you will make, ever! They charge top dollar for items and tell you that they are wholesale prices.

These type of companies flood search engines with key words like drop ship and ebay. The real wholesalers don’t stand a chance in the search engines, because they don’t pay someone to flood search engines with key words directing you back to their website. They don’t have to, they all ready have a huge customer base, and they don’t need to beg for more business.

Search engines are the last place you ever want to look for a real wholesale distributor. Most times when you search for a wholesaler or drop shipper, all you will find are companies who work hard to get found in search engines. These fake wholesalers spend so much time with search engine optimization that they don’t have anytime to give to their customer base.

I refer to the search engine flooders as fake wholesale distributors because, all though they are legitimate businesses, they are claiming to be something they are not, a wholesaler. Yes, they are probably buying items from a wholesaler. But, then they mark up their price and sell to you. This makes them a middleman company, not a real wholesaler.

These fake wholesalers make you pay monthly membership fees to buy their high priced goods. They lie and tell you they are selling to you at wholesale prices. The truth is, it’s against the law to sell wholesale to the public. You need a business license (very easy to obtain) in order to buy anything wholesale.

So, if they don’t ask for a business license or tax ID number, they are probably a middleman company.

The middlemen are straight out lying to you. Big successful middleman companies like Doba thrive on the public not knowing any better. As I said before, it’s illegal for any business to sell wholesale to the public.

Fake wholesale companies make tons of money everyday by telling people they sell wholesale to the public. Shop around and you will find the prices they charge are ridiculously high compared to a real wholesaler!!

Any smart business person in sales will go right to the source to buy their products. They won’t ever buy from a middleman. Help weed out these fake wholesale distributors by not buying from them.

We know that a real wholesale distributor doesn’t need to flood search engines to get business. They get tons of business already and have tons of regular customers. They are all well established and have probably been around for 10-50 years. Most of these well established companies have a huge customer base already. They are not hard up for more business.
Thank you for stopping by and hope to see you soon,

Hello readers, welcome to my second post on my return about making money from home. Yes, I am back to helping people make money from home once again. The last website did so well and I always get emails asking me to start another website. So here it is, my second post back!

If you are in to sales, drop shipping is probably the easiest way to make money at home. There is no overhead with a storefront because you are doing it right out of your home.

Drop shipping is how all the major eBay and other auction merchants make a living. Drop shipping can be started with no money at all and with no surplus of products on hand. And yes, if done correctly you can make up to $25,000.00 a month.

You can sell online anywhere: Craigslist, Ebay, Amazon, your own website, the list goes on and on. Most are very cheap to sell your items with plenty of profit margin. Or even better….FREE!

With drop shipping, you don’t have to worry about losing money, by being stuck with tons of products you didn’t sell. You don’t need any inventory with drop shipping. All you need is some good business sense and a telephone.

The way it works is:
* You post an item for sale (an item your wholesaler/drop shipper offers)
* A customer purchases said item and pays (Paypal is still a great way to send and receive money online.
* You then receive the money and order the item from your wholesaler
* Your wholesaler then ships the item directly to the customer
*Most wholesalers will even put your return address on the item so they never knew it came from a drop shipper

That’s it. This is probably the most effective way people are making money online when it comes to sales.

There are some fall-backs in drop shipping, but compared to other businesses you could be running, they are very minor. If you have the right drop shipper you will be a very successful business person.

Sometimes drop shippers can be a real nightmare. You have to be smart on your quest for a good drop shipper. If you want us to teach you how to make money at home just take a look at our Home Drop Ship Guide.

It can mean your reputation when it comes to selling items online. When you order anything from a drop shipper, time is of the essence to get a happy customer. Happy customers mean they will probably come back as well. Nine times out of ten, they will even tell their friends about the good experience they had from you.

Repeat customers and word of mouth customer account for about 70% of your business online.

I will show you drop shippers that care as much about your customers, as you do. Drop shipping is just one of hundreds of ways you can make money online.

Come back soon so I can give you some more great advice on how to start and run your own successful home business FOR FREE!

Hello readers, I hope you had a great weekend. Sorry I didn’t post on Monday, it was my fiancé’s birthday. Someone recently asked me how they could upgrade to Windows 7 from Vista.

So here are the instructions on how to do a clean install as well as an upgrade to Windows 7.

First off I want to say; as a professional I don’t recommend upgrading to Windows 7. I recommend saving all your data and then do a clean install. But I will give you instructions on how to do both.

There is about a week left to decide whether users should make the move to Windows 7. I recommend everyone get Windows 7 one way or another. Windows 7 is the best operating system ever to arrive from Microsoft.

Either way, whether you are upgrading or doing a clean install, keep these reasons for doing a clean install in mind.

1. Clean Windows installations will always run faster and more efficient than an upgraded installation.

2. It is usually quicker to do a clean install than to do an upgraded installation of Windows. Keep in mind; you will need to reinstall any programs or files with a clean installation. A clean install will still be quicker than an upgrade installation.

3. Upgrade installations can be very buggy and there are also more issues that can arise. Your upgrade installation can even fail in the middle of the installation causing you to lose all your information.

4. If your upgrade installation fails or locks up, which Windows is known to do, you will have to do a clean installation anyway.

5. A clean Windows installation allows you to start fresh. If you had any Windows errors, they will be deleted instead of carrying them over to your new Windows installation. You won’t bring over any unused or unnecessary programs on to your new installation.

6. A clean installation will allow you to reformat your hard drive. It’s always a good idea to format the hard drive every now and again.

The only major reason you would have for choosing an upgrade over a clean install would be how easy it can be. If you are not used to formatting and installing a new operating system, there will be a small learning curve. But, this is very simple and easy to do as you will see in the next steps.

Previous versions of Windows were a bit more difficult to do a clean install. Windows 7 is the easiest clean install that I have ever seen. I will show you how to do a clean install, as well as an upgrade, of Windows 7 step-by-step for everyone not used to installing any Windows operating system.

Remember, before you install or upgrade any operating system: Backup, Backup, and Backup!
They say any information you don’t have 2-3 copies of, wasn’t important.

One of the most common and frustrating things when installing a new operating system is to install it and then, realize that you have deleted important files or documents without a backup.

For this reason, the first step in moving from Windows XP or Windows Vista to Windows 7 will be to backup all of your personal files – Files, Videos, Documents, Pictures, Music, Emails, or anything else important to you.

Programs cannot be backed up. Programs need to be reinstalled on your new operating system (The same is true even if you do an upgrade installation). So you will want to make sure that you have all your program discs handy.

If you downloaded a program from the internet, contact the company you bought it from and tell them you need the download link, because you upgraded to a new operating system. This will also give the company a heads-up to direct you to the proper Windows 7 download link.

Note: I suggest investing in an external hard drive to back up your data. You can get a good external hard drive with 500GB of space for just under $100.00. Western Digital is the brand I recommend to my customers.

Once you have everything backed up, start your Windows 7 installation by placing the proper Windows 7 CD into your disc drive. Note: Windows 7 comes with 2 discs. One disk is for a 32bit processor and the other disk is for a 64 bit processor. Make sure you install the correct one according to the hardware your processor supports.

First, you need to Boot (start your computer) from the Windows 7 CD
Getting your computer to boot from the CD will be the hardest part of your new installation. Don’t worry; I will walk you through it step by step.

To do a clean installation of Windows 7, you need your computer to boot to the CD, instead of booting to your hard drive as it would start up normally. Some computers will boot to the CD automatically and will ask you to press any key to continue. If you computer doesn’t boot to the CD automatically you need to change your boot order.

You can change your boot order on your computers splash screen.
Your splash screen is the screen you see as soon as you start your computer. Usually the manufacturers name will appear on your splash screen. The splash screen will give you an option of pressing F2, F10, or F12 in most cases to get to your setup menu, boot menu, or BIOS setup. Your set up screen is also called boot menu on some computers.

Once you get to your computer boot options, choose your cd-rom drive and hit enter. Now your computer will boot to your CD instead of booting from your hard drive.

If you are an advanced user, you can also choose to boot from your Windows CD in your BIOS. You can get to your bios screen from your splash screen also. When your computer begins to start you will need to look for which key it is that needs to be pressed to enter the BIOS setup on your splash screen. Look at the screen for a message similar to this: Press F2 for Setup or Press F10 to Enter BIOS.

Once you press the correct key, you will be taken to the BIOS setup. Now, you want to look for an option for the Boot Priority or Boot Order tab in your BIOS. The Boot Order tells the computer which devices it is to boot first, then second and so on. You will want the disc drive that contains the Windows 7 disc to be the first option in the boot order. Make sure your hard drive is chosen to boot second. Now save and exit the BIOS setup. It is usually the F10 or F7 key to save and exit, but it can vary from computer to computer. Your BIOS should tell you what key to hit in order to save and exit the BIOS.

When your BIOS is saved and exits, your computer will ask you if you want to boot from the CD. It will say something like; press any key to boot from CD. Now hit any key to continue.

The hardest part is done. Let’s install Windows 7!!

Now that you are ready to start your Windows 7 Installation
Everything is very simple from here on out to complete your Windows 7 installation. You just have to follow the simple the on-screen instructions. With the correct boot sequence selected, the computer should start Windows 7 setup from the disc.
Note: If your computer starts normally instead of the Windows 7 installation screen, the boot sequence is not set to boot from the CD. Maybe you didn’t save the settings in the BIOS. Just repeat the previous step and make sure you choose the corresponding key to save and exit.

To continue, “select your language” for the install and click Next. If you are reading this, your language is most likely English.

Now click on the “Install Now” button to begin the installation process.

Now, check the box that’s marked “I accept the license terms” and click the “Next” button.

On the next screen, click the “Custom/Advanced” option for a clean install (if you went this far, I suggest the custom/advanced option) But if you really want to upgrade, choose the upgrade button. Then follow the easy on screen instructions to finish upgrading.

Now, select the hard drive or partition that you want to install Windows 7 on. Then click on the “Drive Options (advanced) ” Button. Now that you have selected the correct drive or partition, click on the “Format” button to erase the previous version of Windows from the selected hard drive and then click the “Next” button.

The Windows 7 installation will begin automatically and the setup will proceed by itself. Then, the screen will turn off and on and the computer will restart itself during setup. Don’t worry, this is normal.
Once the installation process completes for Windows 7, you will choose a username and password. A password is optional but recommended. Now click the “Next” button.

On the next screen, you will be prompted for the Windows Product key. Enter your Windows 7 product key and click the “Next” button.

The next three screens will be personal options for Security, Time zone, Date, and setting up your Home Network. It is very self explanatory. Don’t worry; even the network setup is simple with Windows 7. Just follow the instructions.

Once you are finished with the personal settings, your computer will startup and you will be taken to the desktop. Congratulations, you are done installing Windows 7!!

Now for some finishing touches that are very important. Now, you want to run Windows Update from the Programs menu to update any drivers that may not be working correctly or need to be updated. I recommend this step, because if you don’t update Windows 7, you will surely run in to problems down the line.

At first, your new installation of Windows 7 can be confusing. Windows 7 has a newer look as well as being faster than your old operating system. Windows 7 also has newer and better features. Take a look around and get used to your new operating system. Windows 7 is very similar to Vista and XP. I would say a new user can get used to Windows 7 within 1 hour.

Hello readers, I hope you had a great weekend. This post is the last of a five part series on how to do a tune-up, clean, and optimize a computer yourself. In this post I will teach you how to do a registry cleanup and defrag.

A Registry Cleanup is very simple. Most people think they would be done cleaning their computer at this point. That couldn’t be further from the truth. Your computer has a registry that controls everything your computer does to keep running properly. Your registry needs to be cleaned and defragmented on a regular basis. If your registry is not cleaned regularly, your computer will be slow in even the simplest tasks like starting up. If your registry is corrupt, cleaning and defragmenting it will fix it.

This is the place viruses and trojans are likely to attack. Once your registry gets attacked, your computer can act funny or not work at all. Your registry is the heart of your computers operating system. Without a properly functioning registry, your computer would not function the way it should. That’s how most people can tell they have a virus or trojan. Their computer will not act like it normally does.

Now that you know a little about your registry, we can get to cleaning it out. You can pay for registry cleaner program, but I only recommend getting one that a professional recommends. As a professional, I can only recommend 2 registry cleaners. One is FREE and the other is a pay program. I actually use them both.

The first is a pay program and is made by a Microsoft trusted company. The company is called Uniblue and they sell the best registry cleaner out there. It’s called Registry Booster 2009 and can be found here.

It costs $29.99 and will be the best money you ever invest in to your computer. It works with Windows 7, XP, and Vista. I would even say that this investment would be equal to buying a top-notch anti-virus program.

The Uniblue registry booster is very self explanatory. You simply hit the “start scan” button on the “registry scan” tab of the program. The program will find any registry errors your computer has. When it has completed, the scan it will ask if you want to fix errors. Now, you click “yes“. When the program finishes fixing your registry errors it will ask you if you want to restart your computer for changes to take effect. Click “yes” to restart your computer.

When your computer restarts, you should do a registry defragment. Start the uniblue program and choose the registry defrag tab. The program will defrag your registry and ask you to restart your computer when it is done. Restart your computer and now you have a fresh computer that is error free and running as fast as possible. Congratulations, if you did everything listed in this post, you have successfully optimized your computer the same way a professional would do it.

If you can’t afford to buy a registry cleaner program, you can use a free registry cleaner and defragmenter program.

As a professional, I can only recommend one free registry cleaner and defragmenter program. That program is called Tweak Now registry cleaner and can be downloaded here.

This program works with Windows 7, XP, and Vista.

Once you install and start the program, choose the “registry cleaner” tab on the left.

Now, click the “scan registry” button at the top of the screen. The program will now look for errors in your registry.

Once the program is done finding errors in your registry, click the “clean registry” button at the top. Now you are done cleaning the registry and are ready to defrag the registry.

Now, click the registry defragmenter tab on the left.

Now click the “defragment now” button on the top. Your registry will now start defragmenting.
WARNING: DON’T TOUCH YOUR MOUSE, TOUCH ANY BUTTONS ON YOUR KEYBOARD, OR SHUT OFF YOUR COMPUTER DURING THE REGISTRY DEFRAG AS YOU CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ISSUES. WAIT UNTIL IT IS DONE DEFRAGMENTING UNTIL YOU TOUCH ANYTHING.

Once the program has finished defragmenting your registry, you will be prompted to restart your computer. Click the “yes” button to restart your computer and you are done!

If you followed all the steps above, one-by-one, you have just optimized your computer the same way a computer professional would do it.
